Women's Study Group on the Feminine

Women’s Study Group—beginning Monday, September 19, 2016 7-8:30 pm.

Fee: $3.00

APSWNY WOMEN'S STUDY GROUP MEETS AT: Trinity Episcopal Church, in the "Barbara Moot Memorial Library of Jungian Studies" at  371 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, NY

The Women’s Study Group, created by Barbara Moot 30 year ago, meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 7:00 – 8:30 pm.   This group reads Jungian-related books written with a feminine perspective. The group is unique in that we read the selected book aloud, encouraging individual contributions, interpretation and reflection, exploring ideas as we go.

Imaginal Figures in Everyday Life:  Stories from the World between Matter and Mind  (Chiron Publications, 2015).  Dr. Mary Harrell, author, explores the intriguing world of the imagination and the figures that dwell within, using her own personal experiences, dreams, and fantasies.  Dr. Farrell states that her aim is “to provide avenues of entry to the imaginal domain for the many thoughtful readers who are not Jungians, but who wish to understand the mysteries of the unconscious within the contest of their own lives.”

You need to be a member of C.G. Jung Center to add comments!

The purpose of the Analytical Psychology Society of Western NY is to study and share the work of C.G. Jung and related contemporary thought.

In addition to our continuing book service, The C.G. Jung Center is pleased to announce a working relationship with Talking Leaves Bookstore that will greatly expand the availability of Jungian literature in Buffalo.

Since our inception, access to the books we sell has been limited to times when our center is open to the public. As part of our arrangement with Talking Leaves they will be expanding the number of selections by Jung and related authors that they keep on their shelves.

Most of the titles will be at the Main Street store, however a list of what's available will be kept behind the counter at the Elmwood location.

We hope you will take advantage of this greatly increased opportunity to purchase these informative books so full of meaning for Psyche in the world.

"I have been compelled, in my investigations into the structure of the unconscious, to make a conceptual distinction between soul and psyche. By psyche, I understand the totality of all psychic processes, conscious as well as unconscious. By soul, on the other hand, I understand a clearly demarcated functional complex that can best be described as a "personality". (Jung, 1971: Def. 48 par. 797)
